Madrid to Málaga
Picasso was born in Málaga and the museum that carries his name is in the old town, a few streets from the Alcazaba and the Roman theatre, which sit one on top of the other at the foot of the Gibralfaro. It is a working port city with a beach in the middle of it.
South across La Mancha and down through the Despeñaperros gorge into Andalusia, then the olive country of Jaén and the run to the coast. We stop once on the way, roughly halfway.
