Getting to IFEMA without losing your morning

Gates, taxi ranks, metro and peak hours for reaching a trade fair at IFEMA Madrid. What changes between an ordinary day and a big congress.

Executive working during a ride in Madrid

IFEMA is not a building. It is a complex of several halls with several gates, and on a big fair day the difference between arriving at the right one and the one next to it is twenty minutes on foot carrying a briefcase.

First: look at the hall, not the venue

Your ticket or badge names the hall. That is what decides which gate you want, not the venue’s generic address.

The North and South gates serve different groups of halls. If your meeting is in hall 10 and you arrive at the wrong gate, you will cross the entire site.

Tell your driver the hall, not “IFEMA”. It is the difference between being dropped at the door and ten minutes from it.

The hours worth avoiding

Trade fairs concentrate arrivals between 09:00 and 10:30. That is when the vehicle access queues build and when the taxi rank runs out of cars.

If your schedule allows it, arriving before 09:00 or after 11:00 changes the experience entirely.

The same happens in reverse at the end of the day: between 18:00 and 19:00 everyone leaves at once.

The options

Metro line 8, Feria de Madrid station. Direct from Nuevos Ministerios and from the airport, and packed on fair days. The station leaves you inside the complex, but you still walk to your hall.

Taxi. There is a dedicated rank, with a minimum fare of €8 for short trips from the venue. At fair peak the queue can be long — it is precisely the moment when everyone wants a taxi at once.

A booked taxi. The car waits at the gate you choose, at the time you choose. On a fair day that is the difference between starting calmly and starting at a run.

If you are arriving from abroad

Barajas is ten minutes from IFEMA, which is an unusual piece of luck for an exhibition centre. The flat €33 fare covers the airport and anywhere inside the M-30; IFEMA sits outside it, so the meter applies, but the trip is short.

If you are heading straight from the plane to the fair, tell us the hall when you book and we will drop you at the right gate.

For groups and company visits

When several people need moving, or a client needs looking after, logistics matter more than price. We coordinate multiple vehicles, named passenger lists and multi-stop routes — airport, hotel, venue — and invoice your company so nobody has to deal with payment on the move.

When you book, tell us the hall and the gate and we will drop you at the nearest one. If it is several days of the fair, the morning and evening runs can all be settled at once, at a price agreed in advance.
